The Rhino Recreation Center, in conjunction with other local organizations, provides Buddy Benches to local youth facilities. Buddy Benches are placed in areas where kids play or gather. If a child feels alone, depressed, or needs someone to talk to they can sit on the bench. Then other kids or adults know to reach out to them for assistance.

 

We have been providing them since 2019. They have been placed at Early Learning Center, Head Start, Peralta Trail Elementary, Desert Vista Elementary, Four Peaks Elementary, Avalon School, and Imagine Preparatory. Other organizations that have assisted in this project are Superstition Rotary Club, AJ Mounted Rangers, Drug and various individuals.
